Dolphin and Whale watching

 

Whale and Dolphin Watching tour full day ($110) Book Now!

Includes: boat and captain, bilingual ICT certified guide, lunch and non-alcoholic beverages.
Departure: 7:30am. Return: between 1:30 to 2:30pm. The tour departs from Bahia Drake crossing the waters between Caño Island and Corcovado National Park for about 4 or 5 hours, looking for different species of dolphins and whales visiting our waters. At some point along the tour we will stop in calm waters for lunch. After lunch we begin our trip back to Drake Bay.

 

Isla del Cano

Includes: boat and captain, bilingual ICT certified guide, snorkeling equipment, entrance fees to Caño Island Biological Reserve, picnic lunch and non-alcoholic beverages.
Departure: 7:30 am. Return: 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. The tour departs from Drake Bay crossing the waters between Caño Island and Corcovado National Park for approximately 3 hours, looking for different species of dolphins and whales visiting our waters. Then we boat to Caño Island to do some snorkeling in the clear, calm waters. After this we take a picnic lunch at Playa San Josesito, after lunch returning by boat to Drake Bay.

 

San Josecito

Whale and Dolphin watching tour half day– San Josecito Beach ($120) Book Now!

Includes: boat and captain, bilingual ICT certified guide, snorkeling equipment, picnic lunch on San Josecito beach (a special place to relax and cool off in the calm waters of this beautiful beach).
Departure: 7:30 am. Return: between 1:30 and 2:30 pm. The tour departs from Drake Bay crossing the waters between Caño Island and Corcovado National Park for approximately 3 hours, looking for different species of dolphins and whales visiting our waters. Then we boat to the beautiful San Josecito beach were we do some snorkeling and have lunch. You also have the chance to see some animals in the area, such as the common visitors the white-faced monkeys who dont miss the opportunity to steal some food. After taking a delicious picnic lunch on the beach, we will begin our return trip to Drake Bay.

San Pedrillo

Corcovado National Park hiking tour – San Pedrillo Ranger Station ($80) Book Now!

Includes: Park entrance fee, bilingual ICT certified guide with a telescope, boat and captain, picnic lunch at the San Pedrillo station.
Departure: 6:30 am. Return: between 2:00 and 2:30 pm. The tour begins with a 30 minute boat trip from Drake Bay to San Pedrillo Station. You will do 2 walks in total. After arriving at the station you will take a 3-4 hour walk, return to the station for a picnic lunch, after lunch and a comfortable restyou begin a 30 minute hike to the San Pedrillo Waterfall. More relaxed and refreshed you return to take the boat back to Drake Bay.

 

Sirena

Corcovado National Park hiking tour – Sirena Ranger Station ($90) Book Now!

Includes: Park entrance fee, bilingual ICT certified guide with a telescope, boat and captain, lunchbox-style lunch (sandwich, juice, biscuits and fruit).
Departure: 6:00
am. Return: between 1:30 and 2:30 pm. The tour begins with a 1 hour 15 minute boat trip from Drake Bay to the Sirena Biological Station. Once there you will do a 5 hour leisurely walk along the paths around the entire station. On these trails you can usually see a vast array of wildlife including monkeys, birds, peccaries, coatis, sloths and hopefully the tapir. Lunch is taken at some place on the trail, where the guide thinks is appropriate. Then you walk back to the boat and depart for Drake Bay at 12:30-1:00 pm.

 

Combo Tour Corcovado National Park San Pedrillo Station & Caño Island ($135) Book Now!

Includes: park entrance fee, bilingual ICT certified guide with a telescope, boat and captain, snorkeling gear, picnic lunch at San Pedrillo Station.
Departure: 6:30 am. Return: between 2:30 and 3:30 pm. The tour starts with a 30 minute boat ride to San Pedrillo Station, where we do a 3 hour hike and then have a picnic lunch at the station. After lunch we take the boat to Caño Island and snorkel for 45 minutes to an hour, thereafter returning to Drake Bay.

 

 

Corcovado Overnight San Pedrillo/ Sirena ($280) Book Now!

Includes: Boat transportation (Drake-Sirena-San Pedrillo-Drake), ICT certified bilingual guide with telescope, entrance fees, camping fee, 3 meals, tent, sheet and all other necessary camping equipment.

Day 1

6:00 am: 1 and a half hour boat ride to Sirena Biological Station.
7:45am: Get ready on the beach at Sirena and hike to the ranger station, head out on a 3 to 4 hour hike around the trails of the Sirena station.
11:30am: We take a half hour lunch break at some point along the trail (where guide thinks is appropriate) and hike back to the boat landing.
12:30pm we take boat back to San Pedrillo arrive around 1:30 pm and set up camp at San Pedrillo.
2:30pm: We do one afternoon hike for 2 and half hours to the San Pedrillo Waterfalls, have a quick swim there and hike back to the ranger station.
5:30pm: Dinner at the ranger station and after dinner we go to sleep, light are off at 8:00pm.

Day 2
4:30am: Night/early morning hike in the forest until 6:30am.
7:45am: Breakfast at the ranger station.
8:00am: We go out in the forest again for another 3 hours hike in the primary forest San Pedrillo, then return to the ranger station to get things ready to go back to Drake Bay.
12:30pm: Boat back to Drake arriving around 1:30pm.

 

 

Corcovado Overnight Sirena Station ($325) Book Now!

Includes: Boat transportation (Drake-Sirena-Drake), ICT certified bilingual guide with telescope, entrance fees, camping or room fee (depending on what is available), 3 meals, tent, blankets and all other necessary camping equipment.

Day 1

6:00 am: 1 and a half hour boat ride to Sirena Biological Station.
7:45am: Get ready on the beach at Sirena and hike to the ranger station, drop off overnight bags and equipment and head out on a 3 to 4 hour hike.
11:30am: We take a half hour lunch break at some point along the trail (where guide thinks is appropriate) and hike back to the ranger station. At around 12:30pm we take a 2 hour break until the sun is less hot.
2:30pm: We do one afternoon hike for 2 and half hours to the Claro river, have a quick swim there and hike back to the ranger station.
5:30pm: Dinner at the ranger station and after dinner we go to sleep, light are off at 8:00pm.

Caño Island Biological Reserve

 

San Pedrillo

Snorkeling ($80) or Diving ($135) tour Book Now!

Includes: Entrance to the reserve, snorkeling gear, boat and captain, ICT certified guide or certified divemaster, picnic lunch and non-alcoholic beverages.
Departure: 7:30 am Return: 1:30 to 2:30 pm. The trip begins with a 1 hour boat ride to Caño Island. Once there you do 2 immersions (snorkeling or diving) in different marine areas off of Caño island, each immersion is about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Afterwards, boat to San Josecito beach for a picnic lunch. After lunch head back to Drake Bay.
 

 

San Josecito Beach

 

Drake Bay to San Josecito Beach (hike) ($55) Book Now!

Includes: ICT certified bilingual guide with telescope, canoe tour in Rio Claro and lunchbox-style lunch.
Departure: 7:00 am Return: 2:00 pm. The tour starts from your hotel in Bahia Drake, walking for about 2 hours to Rio Claro, where you do a 1 and a half hour canoe tour to the Rio Claro waterfalls. Afterwards, walk to San Josecito to enjoy the beach and have lunch. and then walks back to Bahia Drake. (Optional: take boat back to Drake Bay).

 

San Josecito-Rio Claro-San Josecito ($70) Book Now!

Includes: ICT certified bilingual guide with telescope, canoeing at Rio Claro, picnic lunch on San Josecito beach, boat and captain, snorkeling gear.
Departure: 8:30am Arrival: 2:00pm. The tour starts from Drake Bay with a 20 minute boat ride to San Josecito beach, then we trek to Rio Claro where we take a 1 and one half hour canoe trip to the waterfalls. We then return to San Josecito beach for lunch and snorkeling (if visibility is good). At 1:45 pm we take the boat back to Drake Bay.

 

 

Terraba-Sierpe Mangrove Forest

 

Mangrove Tour ($110) Book Now!

Includes: ICT certified bilingual guide, boat and captain, picnic lunch.
Departure: 7:30 am Return: 2:00 pm. The tour starts from Drake Bay by boat to the Sierpe river mouth where the mangrove forest begins. Then we take a four hour journey upriver through the mangrove channels, spotting waterfowl, crocodiles and mammals common to this forest. After we take lunch in the town of Sierpe, either a picnic in the community park or in one of the restaurants in the area (as desired by the guests). After lunch we take a 1 hour boat ride back to Drake Bay. (Optional: Kayaking through the mangroves).
